Mayor Joe Carr and members of the Rutherford County Planning Commission is inviting everyone to an open house public meeting as part of PlanRutherford, the initiative to update the County’s comprehensive plan.
The event is open to the public and offers attendees a chance to review the priorities, goals, and recommendations of the plan before the County’s formal adoption process begins in early 2025.

About PlanRutherford
PlanRutherford was launched in 2022 to provide an opportunity for members of the public to work with their community leaders to address challenges related to recent growth while preparing the county for the future. Rutherford County’s population has increased by nearly 700 people per month since 2010 and is on pace to exceed a half million people by 2045.
Input received throughout this process informed recommendations for land use policies, economic development strategies, open space priorities, and capital improvement programs aimed at addressing traffic congestion, local school capacity, and other government services and utilities.
